July 2019

On Friday, July 12, I had a blood test and a meeting with Dr. Pitz. It was nice to hear that my blood test looked good. As a result I now am on three weeks of chemo drugs, then take one week off. I was off for a week in the middle of July. I am feeling much better now that I am on chemo drugs as opposed to liquid drugs. My MRI has been scheduled for August 26. I will then have a better idea where I am at regarding my brain cancer.

My parents are doing very well which I am so grateful for. At the beginning of July dad was moved to the hospital in Morris. We are glad that this new hospital is only 45 minutes away from home. He now is waiting to go to a nursing home in Steinbach. Meanwhile the family is going to see dad once a week. We always pick dad up and go out for dinner. Dad continues to get lots of visitors and enjoys meeting new people. It always is so beautiful seeing mom and dad give each other a hug when they see each other, as well as when mom leaves. They continue to have lots of love for each other.

As always, I really enjoy going to our cottage. We had lots of fun spending time there this past month. It’s a great feeling going for a walk every day then jumping into the lake. I have also helped my husband do some work that needs to be done like painting. Many people have stopped by which has been wonderful. Life is good!

I was losing a lot of hair so at the beginning
of July I got it all cut.
