On Friday, July 12, I had a blood test and a meeting with Dr. Pitz. It was nice to hear that my blood test looked good. As a result I now am on three weeks of chemo drugs, then take one week off. I was off for a week in the middle of July. I am feeling much better now that I am on chemo drugs as opposed to liquid drugs. My MRI has been scheduled for August 26. I will then have a better idea where I am at regarding my brain cancer. My parents are doing very well which I am so grateful for. At the beginning of July dad was moved to the hospital in Morris. We are glad that this new hospital is only 45 minutes away from home. He now is waiting to go to a nursing home in Steinbach. Meanwhile the family is going to see dad once a week. We always pick dad up and go out for dinner. Dad continues to get lots of visitors and enjoys meeting new people. Dr. Pitz now continues to be my doctor. We met on Friday, June 14, and discussed my choice to move forward. As I was now off the research study, I started taking chemo drugs. I still have not had an MRI but I feel good. I have recovered very well and feel great. It will be interesting to see where my brain is at after my next MRI. It was wonderful going to our summer cottage every weekend this June. We had a lot of work to do. I helped the best I could then always went for an afternoon nap. My sister and brother-in-law (Bev and Terry) came out every weekend to help us with many things that needed to be done. It was wonderful having them out and getting help from them. Mom and dad are doing quite well. Every weekend that I get back from our cottage I always get a ride to go see them. I am grateful that they are hanging in there. I now enjoy spending time with my cottage friends, and going out with my relatives and friends when I am home. I continue to enjoy life! Colleen, R...
