January 2019

In the month of January I followed my research liquid drug regime of two weeks on and one week off. Now that I am not taking chemo drugs, things seem to be working out much better. I will be having an MRI in the middle of February.

In the month of January I spent much time with my family. My mom is at home and has slowly gotten a bit better from the small stroke she had December 26, 2018. My dad now often comes home to see mom and his family. My sister Bev does a wonderful job driving my dad home from the hospital. As a family we had a wonderful time celebrating dad’s birthday.

Sadly, in the month of January two of my friends lost their husbands – my cousin Fiona and my friend Iris. I went to both funerals and once again realized that life can go by very quickly. I continue to be so grateful that it now is one and a half years since my first brain surgery. When I wake up every morning I am so thankful that I still am here. I continue to exercise and sleep every day, and I enjoy seeing my family and friends in many ways. This month I had the opportunity to go cross country skiing, to speak to a Yoga class about my life, and to go to a Winnipeg Jets hockey game with my family members. I have had so much fun! Every morning I thank God for all He does for me.

My husband gave me a Jets jersey for Christmas.
I love it! My sisters and I went to a game. Had fun!

The family celebrated dad's 87th birthday.

I enjoy spending time with my
granddaughter Molly.

My sister Bev gave me a ride to have lunch with...

 ...my dear friend Mimosa.

Dad is home from the hospital enjoying
some family time.

I met Gene and Lynn at the Yoga where I spoke.
Lynn invited me to come. I had fun.

I was so excited about seeing Gene. We taught
Phys Ed together at Tec Voc High School the
first few years of my teaching career.

  1. My dear friend Chris!! So glad to hear from you again !! Even with this unexpected news. You are a real miracle and you have not changed since meeting you 30 years ago, always smiling or laughing. We had so much fun travelling together in South America. And I'm convinced to see you some time again in Alsace/France !!! So good to see your family again!

The Lord is our Healer! Love, Erika & the gang
