Surgery – March 29, 2018

On March 29, 2018, I had my brain surgery at 7:30 a.m. at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg. After taking out 80% of my brain tumour, I had the potential to be part of the Toca 51l research study. I had a 50% chance of receiving the research study drug, but unfortunately I was placed in the control group. Although I was disappointed not to receive the Toca 511 virus, I was happy to move forward. I got 32 stitches on the left side of my head and was able to go home after two nights. I am now recovering from my surgery and will move forward with the help of doctors and nurses.

My sister Bev and my husband were with me as I
was recovering in the hospital.

This time I got 32 stitches.

After two nights I went home.
